In 1990, honorary village historian Mrs Fay Oldland published the first edition of The Story of Foulridge, a definitive history of our village. In the intervening twenty years much more material has come to light, and she quite rightly thought an update was overdue. Fay had done some research into self publishing and asked for the Parish Council's help. As a result, Noyna Publishing was set up by the Parish Council, and on Friday, May 21st, 2010, The Story of Foulridge 2nd Edition was launched at Foulridge Village Hall.
The Lord High Sherriff of Lancashire, Dennis G. Mendoros, Mrs Karen Mendoros, His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Tony Becket, and 90 guests attended the event, which was introduced by Parish Councillor Andrew Wilson. Mr Mendoros cut the ribbon to officially launch the book, and Fay signed copies for an appreciative audience. Every penny from the profits from the book will go to fund village projects.
